Established in 2008, Cava is a Mediterranean small plate restaurant. Executive Chef Hillary Schmidle leads a team of talented and dedicated Chefs, whose passion is evident in each dish. The menu is comprised of modern and classic dishes from Spain to the Middle East, highlighted by authentic Lebanese, family recipes.
Featuring two bars, one on the street level and one in our Wine Cave, Cava offers a diverse selection of fifty plus international wines, each poured by the glass. Additionally, Danny & Bridget Sullivan, lead Cava’s Front of House, which is known for its high-level service and warming charm. The cocktail list is ever-changing and each drink is masterfully created, as to please a wide range of preferences.
Picturesque Commercial Alley is home to the restaurant as well as several small independent businesses. Located in the heart of historic downtown Portsmouth, New Hampshire, we are just a brief walk from the Portsmouth Parking Garage.
Perhaps one of the restaurant’s most noted features is Cava’s Vertical Garden. In the summertime our guests dine under New England’s first native outdoor living wall.
